Vans Logo



Vans is a trendy shoes brand in the USA that was established by Paul Van Doren in March 1966. The company’s humble origins can be traced to its small shoe factory in Anaheim, California. In the last 4 decades, Vans has witnessed an extraordinary growth and launched several ranges of popular footwear. Van also offers clothing and accessories that are very popular among the youth with special emphasis on the skateboarder/surfer/snowboarder market segment. The classic Versace logo consists of the head of Medusa, a Greek woman transformed into a monster by the goddess Athena for her wrongdoings. Her “sin” was that she had lustfully allowed Poseidon to seduce her right in the temple of the goddess Aphrodite. Her beautiful hair was turned into horrible black snakes and anyone who even looked at her would be turned into stone. Medusa was later slain by Perseus.

Virgin is the brainchild of the famous British entrepreneur Richard Branson who came up with the idea in 1970. Virgin has given birth to more than 200 companies globally and provides employment to around 50,000 people in 29 different countries. According to Investment Hunt in 2009, the estimated value of Virgin Group was more than $2.5 billion.

The largest of the 200 group of companies is the Virgin Atlantic Airways, Virgin Holidays and the Virgin Retail Group. The brand name “Virgin” propped up when Branson and one of his partners started their first-ever business, a record shop, and thought of themselves as virgins in the business.

The famous “Gemini” or “Twins” logo was created by Roger Dean, a well-known English artist and illustrator which depicted a young nude woman with a serpent body standing in front of a mirror and the word “Virgin” inscribed in Dean’s familiar script. Today’s Virgin logo has remained the same since 1979. Back then it was drawn on a paper napkin.

The company employs more than 86,373 people worldwide with total assets of £139.57 billion as of 2012.

The company was co-founded by two Stanford University graduates Jerry Yang and David Filo in January, 1994, and later incorporated on March 2, 1995.

Yahoo! hired an interactive agency named Organic, Inc. to redesign their logo in 1995. Chief designer Kevin Farnham at Organic Inc. created the logo that we see today. The Yahoo! logo is one of the most popular corporate logos and the typeface stems from a T.26 font titled Able.

INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT YAHOO LOGO:

YAHOO! is not an interjection but an acronym for “Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle.”
Click on the logo’s exclamation mark at Yahoo! home page and you’ll hear the company’s trademark yodel. It was made famous by country & western music star Wylie Gustafson of Wylie & the Wild West.

The most popular video-sharing website uses Adobe Flash Video technology to display a wide variety of user-generated content, that ranges from movie trailers, TV clips, and music videos, as well as amateur content such as video logs and short films. According to reports, more than two billion videos were watched daily on the website in 2010.
